It is done along 10 kilometers and scheduled to be completed a week ahead. To optimize it, as many as five fire trucks deployed to the location, that is by spraying the mud and trash. 

Head of River and East Flow Coastal Division, Jakarta Water Management Department, Monang Ritonga disclosed the dredging aims to anticipate puddles. Moreover, heavy rain is predicted to hit the city until the end of this February.

"This is because if the mud clogs the channels, water cannot flow well and cause spill out onto the street," he expressed, Thursday (2/12).

Ritonga assessed, there are about 3,000 channels that must be dredged along Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta, until Cawang area, East Jakarta. "We're cooperating with Jakarta Fire and Rescue Management Department. If the mud is not sprayed, the dredging process will take a long," he told.

Head of Rescue Section, Jakarta Fire and Rescue Management Department, Satriadi added his department is going to send five fire trucks to optimize the process. "We find the closest water source to simplify the officers in the field," he disclosed.
